Christmas Workshop | Skandium Marylebone

Christmas is nearly here and we started the festive season early at the Skandium showroom in Marylebone on November 12th!

With textile designer Ashley McDow from Occipinti, we focus on Christmas decoration and how to create the perfect mood for your home.

Remember that this is the perfect opportunity for you to let go of any unnecessary items, like any old or broken ornaments you always leave at the bottom of your Christmas box. As always you will feel a little lighter when you get rid of the clutter.

But in terms of festive interiors, the best advice I can give you is choose a theme for the decor and stick with it throughout the entire house. The best way is to choose two colours to create a professional look.

Welcomed by the aroma of the fabulous Glogg and Skandi treats, we started the afternoon with a really fun DIY – clay ornaments. Using Christmas cookie cutters and letter stamps, everyone created very personalised ornaments. I really loved how everyone tried different patterns and imprint to create their designs. This is for sure a really fun activity to do at Home with anyone.

After a nurturing break with the vibrant food from Cake and Cucumber we started our second activity with simple wreath making using Strups rings. We demonstrated a few options with foliage, wool and Christmas decoration.

This simple ring which can be used in so many different ways, is one of the best trick to style your Home for the season, bringing fresh greenery to style your Home!

Along side cake and tea we finished our day with some Gift wrapping tricks, using Ferm Living beautiful Christmas wrapping paper with leather, ribbons, greenery and feathers.

So, if you too are thinking of decorating your home this winter you can always join us for our Part II, our Christmas table setting workshop on December 10th.

Hosted at the Fritz Hansen showroom in the heart of London, Ashley and I are going to give a complete guide on how to host the perfect Christmas party!

We will have lots of inspiration and ideas to decorate your Home for Christmas, we will also create a center piece for the table with the help of floral artist Tom from Agent F and have other fun DIY activities for your table.

We will also help you design the perfect food and drinks for your guest with the talented menus from Cake and Cucumber.

I had an amazing time learning how to make easy Christmas decorations. Ashley and Mathilde are so knowledgeable and really helped foster your ideas into beautiful crafts.

I'm not crafty and was worried about how accessible the workshop would be. But it was perfectly pitched and I got so much out of it. Thank you!
