Decluttering is always a good idea and essential for a great Feng shui in your home. Naturally, Spring is the best time to open new energy into our lives, while the weather is gently softening, it feels easier to let go of the excess we no longer need.
You’re certainly not alone in this strange desire to clean your house, sort out your mess and empty your wardrobe. Spring cleaning has become nearly ritualized in the West and for the adepts an enjoyable process that makes you feel better and lighter!
One of the most fundamental rules of Feng Shui is that good energy cannot accumulate in a space that is cluttered with junk. If you try to perform Feng Shui in a house that is dirty or cluttered with too many objects you will not achieve results. The idea is to remove these objects or create space so that good energy can enter your home.
A great way to start decluttering is to use Marie Kondo method of lovingly connecting with belongings that “spark joy”. All items that don’t spark joy can be disposed or donated. Part of what makes Marie Kondo method unusually speedy is that instead of decluttering room by room, she tackles belongings by subject, starting with what is easiest to part with. So, all the clothes, then all the books, then documents, then miscellany and, last and most difficult, photos and sentimental items.
Instead of deciding what to get rid of, she says, the focus should be on what to keep: which few things spark sufficient joy or are truly necessary. This is a great opportunity for you to say goodbye to all the unnecessary surplus.
Ok so it all sounds so good, but you might be thinking this is a lot of work especially when you have a busy lifestyle with really few spare time. So here is few things you can start with that can be fit into anyone schedule.
